How To Conduct a Meeting
This 30 minute DVD shows How to Conduct a Meeting from beginning to end. It includes calling the meeting to order, reading the minutes, treasurer's report, committee reports, unfinished business, new business, how to make a main motrion, discuss it and take a vote,. Both Presidents and members can learn effective meeting procedures by watching this DVD. It uses show and tell instruction all the way. It's easy to understand and follow. It comes with a detailed written handout on agenda planning and meeting script writing.
Parliamentary Procedure Made Simple: the Basics
This 80 minute DVD teaches both presiding officers and members the order of a business meeting, how to make, discuss and vote on motions. It explains several subsidiary motions: amend, refer to committee, close debate and lay on the table. It has a section for committees, boards and the secretary. The first 60 minutes is instructional and the last 20 minutes is a meeting conducted from beginning to end. It comes with an instructional booklet with basic information about making various useful motions, order of a business meeting, ranking of motions and a time code table of contents for the DVD so one can find various topics easily.
All About Motions
All about Motions: Two DVD set. The first DVD is a visual encyclopedia of the motions as found in Robert’s Rules of Order. Each motion is explained and illustrated by members making the motion and the president placing each for discussion. You will learn how to make a main motion, amend a motion, amend an amendment, postpone a motion, call for the orders of the day, set the time for an adjourned meeting, point of order, appeal from the decision of the chair, reconsider the vote, rescind, amend something previously adopted and others. The second DVD is a meeting conducted from beginning to end illustrating some of these complicated motions. Both DVD’s come with instructional booklets with time codes to each motion so you can find specific motions easily. The booklet to the second DVD includes information about taking, writing and correcting the minutes. First DVD is 100 minutes. Second DVD is 40 minutes.
Nominations & Elections
There are six ways people can be nominated according to Robert’s Rules of Order and our video explains all. It is important for organizations to know that the procedure should be clearly stated in the bylaws of the organization. If the procedure is not explained in the bylaws, then members can vote on what procedure they want to use to nominate and elect their officers. The video shows how to make this kind of motion and vote on it. We show the complete voting process: taking the ballots, counting the ballots and recording the results of the vote.
